Study - Street

The buildings are from a reference photo and I added in the little characters for fun. Focusing on value mostly so this time's color pallete is has a lot of subdued earth tones. Which is fine, because I've been told by many artists that as long as the value is right the image will read better than an artwork with crazy color but poor value. I worked off a greyscale first then used color layer, then merged and work color from there.

Oh and this whole thing is about 500x400 pixel big. I'm really trying to force myself to stay away from noodling tiny details that doesn't contribute to the artwork on a whole. There are quite a few problems like the distorted floor but overall great experience : D
